A New Chapter at Rupertigau

At Hotel & Restaurant Rupertigau, we’re excited to begin a new chapter in our story. Starting in May 2026, we’ll be breaking ground on an exciting addition right here on the property—another milestone in the ongoing evolution of our establishment in Wals near Salzburg.

What started as a small inn has grown over the decades into a place where people gather, feel at home, and love to return. This connection with our guests is what drives and inspires us. The upcoming expansion is therefore more than just an architectural project—it’s a promise: we’re staying true to who we are while creating space for what’s ahead.

Open Throughout Construction

Our restaurant will remain open as usual throughout the entire construction period. We look forward to continuing to welcome you! Parking is available in the gravel lot next door.

More Space to Stay & Unwind

Over the past few years, we’ve received wonderful feedback about our 25 thoughtfully designed rooms. The trust our guests place in us motivates us to carefully and thoughtfully evolve what we offer.

The expansion will add 18 new rooms and 4 apartments that perfectly complement our existing accommodations. They provide even more flexibility and space—for both short and extended stays—and open up new ways to experience Rupertigau in your own unique way.

Building in a Familiar Place

The new hotel building will be constructed where our garage currently stands and will blend seamlessly with the existing property. We’re planning a construction timeline of about one year, allowing us to move efficiently while minimizing any impact on day-to-day operations.

We’re once again partnering with Recon Group, a trusted partner we’ve successfully worked with before. This ensures that quality, functionality, and design in the new building meet our high standards.

Looking ahead

For us, this expansion is far more than adding square footage—it’s a deliberate step into Rupertigau’s future. We’re already excited to bring our vision to life, step by step, and to share this journey with our guests. We’ll be posting regular updates and behind-the-scenes glimpses on our social media channels as construction progresses.
